More iPhone nano Rumors

Even more rumors have come out about the recently rumored "iPhone nano" which has been confirmed by WSJ, TechCrunch, and other places. The new rumors say that the device will have no internal memory and Apple would go for cloud storage with a revamped MobileMe service. I think that Apple would put 4GB of internal memory to allow for apps. There is also a rumor stating that Apple will include a physical keyboard, which I think is obvious because a soft keyboard on a 2 inch (or maybe even smaller) screen would be extremely hard to use.

If Apple were to release a smaller iPhone, there would be technical complications. For example, apps would need to be built for it's screen. Also, the internals wouldn't be nearly as good as the iPhone 4's because of the space issue. The camera would be reduced down to about the quality of the iPod touch.

Even though that's true, I still think it is a cool idea. Maybe there will be a modified iOS version for it, maybe having a folder for apps and the essentials on the home screen.

But as of know, it is all speculation, and it may be for nothing, but we'll have to wait and see.

iPhone Mini?

A new rumor has arrived on the Internet that Apple is working on a "mini" iPhone much like they did with the iPod.

I find a few problems with this. First, the screen would have to be smaller and one of the best things I like about the iPhone is the size of the screen, it's just right. Second, there would have to be an actual keyboard built into the device which seems unlikely considering the fact that Apple always pointed out the advantages of a soft keyboard in there keynotes. Third, the internals would probably be that of the iPhone 3G and battery life would suck since they have less room to work with. Speaking of which, the device would be pretty thick too, which Apple doesn't like.
Ultimately, I think this rumor is just about Apple testing different things for the iPhone in the future.

GreenPois0n RC6 to Jailbreak Apple TV on iOS 4.2.1

The Chronic Dev Team announced that the next release of their GreenPois0n jailbreak will jailbreak the 2nd Generation Apple TV running iOS 4.2.1. They said that the hard work was already done and all they had to do was implement it into GreenPois0n, which means it will be released soon.

Will iOS 4.3 Be Jailbreakable At Launch?

Currently the iPhone Dev Team is working on a Redsn0w version to jailbreak iOS 4.3. Hopefully they will, because I like the idea of AirPlay for 3rd-party apps, and the App Store download cancellations are going to be convenient. The launch of iOS 4.3 is obviously near and hopefully we won't have to wait until a few weeks before the next firmware update for an untethered jailbreak. If we all remember correctly, iOS 4.2 came out back in late November, and we didn't get a real (no SHSH blobs required) untethered solution until a few days ago.

GreenPois0n Updated

The recently released GreenPois0n untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.2.1 released by the Chronic Dev Team a few days ago has been updated to allow jailbreaking for the Verizon iPhone 4. This is crazy considering that the Verizon iPhone 4 hasn't even launched yet, but it's good news. Those of you that are planning on getting the Verizon iPhone (or those who have already got one, since some pre-ordered units have arrived to people) can download GreenPois0n RC 5.4 from http://greenpois0n.com.

Greenpois0n 4.2.1 Untethered Jailbreak!

The Chronic Dev-Team released Greenpois0n RC5 that jailbreaks all devices running iOS 4.2.1 untethered. It only works on Macs at this time. This is great considering I got my iPod touch 4G a few days ago with 4.2.1 pre-loaded. The Greenpois0n site isn't working at the moment so you can download RC5 from here. When you jailbreak, it will be the same process as with the 4.1 Greenpois0n except the Loader.app might not work. To fix that, follow this guide.
